Tamworth Trip
Tamworth, Staffordshire. Is not a large place but has four GBG pubs. One is the famous Tamworth Tap, CAMRA National Pub of the Year in 2023 and 2024. There is an excellent micropub and several with great historic interest. A pub trail is available on the local branch website. There is plenty of good quality Real Ale to sample.

and possibly The Sheriff of Tamworth, (3 beers) .
Travel details: Train from Chester Station, 11.32 to Crewe, arriving 11.52, then 12.13 from Crewe towards Euston, arriving Tamworth 12.55. There is a direct train back at 19.09, which is quick and arrives in Chester 20.13. Later trains are 13 or 08 past each hour but take longer and involve a change at Crewe.
